Day 1:
First, I went to Wal-Mart and used a gift card to get a DVD of the Tracy Anderson method. I used this DVD about 5 years ago in Grenada with my friend Sarah Schroeder. I remember it was fun and hard. I also bought a Jillian Michaels video. I don't really like her that much anymore (her tone is to harsh for me) but my roommate, her friend and sister are doing a 30 day challenge so I thought I should join at least some of those work outs. I have to choice things that will keep me motivated or I won't succeed.
Second, I went to body-pump class at the local gym. I am already locked into a membership so I might as well get my moneys worth. Wow some of those woman are in killer shape. If anything is a motivation is that if you go to the gym you have got to get in better shape than doing nothing. It was definitely hard. I am not in very good shape, but it will be fun to see when I get stronger.
Body Pump: I used the bar and 2/5 lbs on each end for most exercises. 1 hour long class that works circuit training in all the muscle groups. Tonight I am supposed to run with Matt, It may not be a very hard run, but at least I will get some cardio in the mix.
Some of the other steps I am taking.
I am using a calorie counter app that lets me upload calories and scanbar codes into a food log. I am going to get my heart rate monitor watch fixed. I have to mail it in for them to replace the battery. That way I can use the appropriate calories into my logs. I think that is the science in me that I need to know exact numbers. That way I can track why things are or or not working.
Ps. I took a day 1 picture of my upper half. Yuck lol.
